About Women Returners

We are experts in enabling the return to work of highly-qualified professionals, mainly women, after an extended career break. We set up Women Returners for Employers to create a bridge between experienced professional women (and men) with a CV gap and organisations with skills and diverse talent gaps.

Our corporate and coaching teams have been working with the returner community for many years, both before and after their return to the workforce. We combine a practical commercial perspective, with in-depth psychological and returner coaching understanding.

Julianne Miles



Julianne is the Co-founder and CEO of Women Returners. Since 2014, Julianne and her team have worked together with forward-thinking organisations to pioneer the development of returnships and the returner programme market in the UK. She is a Chartered Psychologist with a first career as a senior manager in marketing and strategy for Diageo and a strategy consultant with LEK Consulting, working in the UK, France and Australia. She has an MBA from INSEAD, where she was awarded the Henry Ford II prize for first in year, and an MSc in Organisational Psychology. Julianne retrained as a Business Psychologist after a four year parental career break with her two children. She has been supporting women returners for over a decade, initially through her coaching psychology practice. Julianne is the acknowledged European expert on returning to work and returnship programmes, She is a frequent event speaker and media commentator on returnships and returning to work issues, and also acts as an advocate for returners and returner programmes in Government forums.
