Creating Routes Back to Employment for Women after a Career Break

Following the success of our Returners to Financial Services Scotland Programme, Women Returners has been awarded Scottish Government funding to run the Returners to Business Services Scotland Programme. This cross-company programme will enable organisations to pilot a returnship in a highly cost-effective manner.

We are looking to partner with business services companies (financial, fin-tech, legal, consultancy etc), in or near Edinburgh or Glasgow, who recognise the benefits of diversity and are interested in bringing talented returning professionals into their organisations.

We expect there will be high demand for participation and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

About Women Returners

Women Returners is a consulting, coaching and network organisation working with employers across sectors to access, support and retain returning professionals. We pioneered the introduction of returnships into the UK and have led the rapid growth of the returner programme market in England. We have partnered with many leading employers including EY, O2, Skanska, Fidelity International, Virgin Media, M&G Investments, The Cabinet Office and The Home Office. We also run a free network for over 4,000 returning professional women.

As the UK experts, we frequently provide expert commentary on women returners and returnships in national media (e.g. BBC R4 Woman’s Hour, The Scotsman, The Sunday Times, The Guardian), at Government/public forums (e.g. APPG Women and Work) and at industry association events (e.g. Scottish Investment Operations, Women’s Engineering Society, ICAEW). We have recently co-written best practice employer guidance on returner programmes for the UK Government.
